子どもの教育や多言語教育などについて議論してて，IB が良いのか，アメリカンスクールが良いのか，日本の学校が良いのか，フィンランド式が良いのか，僕は正直意見を持つほどそれぞれのプログラムに詳しくないのですが，現状の自分の仮説は以下の通りです．

教育プログラム A を受けた子どもが，教育プログラム B を受けた子どもよりも優秀になる，ということはないというのが暫定的な私の意見です．一方で，ある教育プログラムに入った子は，そのプログラムにおいて最適化される，ということはおそらく正しそうです．例えば IB のカリキュラムにおいて優秀な成績を修めた高校生を仕事で面接することがありますが，彼らは議論慣れしています．「ダイバーシティを大切に」「リーダーシップが」「AI が」とコンサル予備軍みたいな語彙で実に雄弁に話すのですが，それは彼らがそういうトレー二ングを受けたからです．日本の受験に特化した日本の高校生が，日本の大学受験を上手くこなすのと構造的な違いはありません．そして前者の能力が後者のそれに比べて優劣を持つようなことはなくて，子どもがそれぞれの評価体系で評価される能力を得た，ということ以上の意味はもたないと思っています．

じゃあ，良い教育プログラムって何だろうと考えると，ここからは完全な私見なのですが，複数のプログラムの評価軸に触れて、その中で行動する経験を持つということではないでしょうか．つまり日本の教育を受けた上でアメリカンスクールに通うだとか，IB を受けてた子がフィンランドに行ってみるだとか，日本の都市部の進学校の子が地方の高校に行ってみる，でも良いかもしれません．そのプログラムの違いが大きければ大きいほど効果が大きいとも思います．何故そのような違いを持つことが良いと考えるかと言えば，それは少なくとも２つ以上の評価基準を持てることになるからです．自分の頭の中に２つの点が打たれると，その点と点の間のことは許容できるようになります．それが３つになれば面で，４つになれば空間です．多様性の価値を見出せるためには，多様性がない状態が見えないといけないし，民主主義の価値を見出せるためには，民主主義がない状態を知らなければいけない．「愚者は経験に学び，賢者は歴史に学ぶ」というのはおそらく正しいのですが，世の中の大半はそう言う意味では愚者なので，経験に基づく点を打っていくのは大事なように思います．

少し発散して話が前後しますが，僕は教育の目的は究極的には個人個人が幸せに生きられることだと思っています．それにはどうしたら良いかと言うと，自分の在り方とかやっていることの価値を自分の言葉で認められること，が第一歩だと思っています．（それについては以前に長文を書いたことがあります．これ と これ です．）そういう意味では価値の基準は多ければ多い方がよくて，教育を通してそういうことを提供していけたらと思っています．ちなみに研究活動というのは，そのような価値の内有化（とでもいうのでしょうか，ある価値感は他人のものではなく自分のものだ，と本心から思える状態になること，と冗長に定義します）と相性が良いとも思っています．興味があれば一緒に研究しましょう．連絡下さい！

話を戻すと，幼児教育でも高等教育でも，日本人が海外での教育を求めることに一理あるとは思うのですが，それは海外のプログラムで得られる能力が圧倒的に素晴らしいというよりも，２つ目の価値の基準を得られることに価値があるから，というのが私の暫定的な意見です．全く同じ議論で，日本の受験教育を経験するフィンランドで育った高校生にも，同様の教育効果があると思います．上記の通り，もしかしたら国内でも同じような効果は達成可能なのかもしれませんね．移動はしやすくなった時代ですが，誰もが気軽に海外に行くわけにいかないのも事実ですから，新しい教育プログラムを日本で考える際に，国内での複数拠点で学ぶことや，その効果を考えても面白いと思いました．
