投資金額
A さんに投資する費用は，学費（300万 × 2年，50万 × 4年，PhD Candidateになると学費は下がるので）と，生活費（300万 × 6年）の６年間の合計が2600万円と概算します．Bさんに投資する費用は，研究室へ支払うお金（500万 × 2年，スポンサー代とか色んな言い方はありますが，何らかのお金を支払う必要がある場合が多い），給料＋海外在住手当＋住居補助など（700万くらい？ × 2年）で，２年間の合計が2400万円くらいでしょうか．スポンサー代は年間1000万円とも言われますし，給料と諸手当などについては想像ですが，いず れにしても，年間かかる費用に直すと，BさんにはAさんの３倍程度の投資になりそうです．

Bさんは企業派遣と言っ ても，留学中にC社に直接関連した研究をすることは多くはありません．特に特許関連の制限があり，多くの場合，研究を始める前に「本研究室で生まれた発明 の権利は，全て大学と研究室に所属します」という誓約書にサインさせられます．ちなみにこれはAさんも同じです．いずれにしても，留学中（投資期間中）の ６年間（Aさん）ないし２年間（Bさん）に，直接的にC社にとって役に立つことをすることは少ないかもしれません．

最初に書いたようにバイアスありきですが，上記のストーリーを鑑みるに，Aさんへの投資効果が，Bさんへのそれと比べて，全く低いとは言えないんじゃない か，と思っています．リターンのばらつきが大きなキャンブル的な人材への投資という考えもできるかもしれません．辞められるケースを考えても奨学金分の返還義務はあるので，企業に取ってローリスク・ハイリターンの投資だ，と主張したいのですが，それはさすがにAさんの事情に肩入れし過ぎかもしれません．笑 どのようにコストとリターンを定量化して分析することができるのか私ではわからないので，問題提起に終始してしまいましたが，多分専門家の方がデータを持っていたら，比較的有益な分析ができるんじゃないか，と思います．
